This Privacy Policy describes how MobScan (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) handles information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Scanned documents and images. All document and image data you create in the app is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is stored in your own iCloud account. We do not collect, transmit, or store the content of your scans on our servers.
Usage and diagnostics. The app may use analytics and crash reporting (e.g. through services such as Firebase or similar) to improve stability and performance. Such data is typically anonymized and may include device type, OS version, and crash logs—not the content of your documents.
Advertising. The app may show third-party advertisements. Ad providers may collect identifiers and usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable laws (e.g. Apple’s App Tracking Transparency). We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
2. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we receive to:
- Operate and improve the app
- Diagnose and fix crashes and errors
- Understand aggregate usage (e.g. feature usage) in a way that does not identify you
3. Data Storage and Sync
Your scans and related data are stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, that data is also stored in your iCloud account and is subject to Apple’s iCloud Privacy and Data terms. We do not have access to or control over the content you store in iCloud.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share anonymized or aggregated data with service providers that help us run the app (e.g. analytics, crash reporting). When you export or share a PDF or file from the app, you control where and with whom it is shared; that sharing is handled by your device and the apps you choose (e.g. Mail, Messages, other apps).
5. Children’s Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data. Because we do not store your document content on our servers, most of your data is under your control on your device and in your iCloud. To delete data: remove documents in the app and, if you use iCloud sync, you can manage or delete iCloud data in your device settings. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
